SHEPHERDING LEADERSHIP

AT PRESTON TRAIL

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with us as a Shepherding Leader. In an effort to pursue unity as a leadership team please review the following.

Key Areas of Alignment

“In essentials: unity. In non-essentials: liberty. In all things: charity.” – St. Augustine of Hippo
As a church we strive to keep our minds, hearts, and energy focused on the main thing: Jesus Christ and the good news he brings through his life, death, and resurrection. We want to be a church that holds our essential convictions tightly and non-essential convictions with a posture of humility - as we respect Christians around the globe who differ in many non-essential beliefs. We believe this is a beautiful thing and we can learn from those who believe differently.

Having said that, as a leader you are stepping into a position of the highest spiritual authority within our church. Your influence on our church will be significant and others will take your words and actions seriously. This is a good thing! As you serve in this way, we want to be clearly aligned in these areas: doctrinal beliefs, church values, and some key cultural issues that are prevalent in society.
Please let us know where differences or questions arise so that we can talk through what might be essential and non-essential in your role at Preston Trail.
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about Preston Trail's beliefs. At their best, these beliefs do not simply live as head knowledge; they move from head knowledge to our hearts and our actions. They unite us and center us around Jesus in such a way that transforms us more and more into His image.

Next Steps: If you'd like to have a deeper conversation about any of these beliefs, please reach out to meet with a staff member. Otherwise, move forward in meeting with your coach.
