  • How many times do we receive blessings from God without acknowledging God’s goodness, grace and generosity? What would it look like to acknowledge God’s goodness in your life?
  • How would thanking God before asking him for anything help you to intentionally focus on gratitude this week?

Bottom Line:
Forgiveness takes time.

Scripture:
Then Peter came to him and asked, “Lord, how often should I forgive someone who sins against me? Seven times?” “No, not seven times,” Jesus replied, “but seventy times seven!”
Matthew 18:21-22 NLT)

Use these questions to continue the conversation at home:
  • On a scale of 1-10, how quick are you to forgive someone when they mess up or hurt you?
  • Which of these things do you want to happen before you can forgive:
    • Your feelings change?
    • The other person changes or apologizes?
    • They experience a consequence?
    • The situation changes?
  • Why is forgiveness harder if that thing doesn’t change?
  • How does it feel to know that forgiveness doesn’t always mean things can go back to the way they once were?
  •  Why do you think forgiveness is worth the wait?
