Frequently Asked Questions
What to expect?
Each week, we'll gather for teaching and table discussion. When you arrive, you're free to choose any table that fits you, with tables available for men, women, and couples.
What is a Community Group?
You may already be familiar with the idea of a Life Group or adult small group. At Preston Trail, we call these Community Groups because we believe faith grows best in biblical community.
A Community Group is a place to practice the way of Jesus alongside others—learning to be with Him, become like Him, and do as He did. As you share life together, our prayer is that your group will grow into a community marked by authentic friendships, spiritual growth, and people who encourage one another through every season.

How are community groups formed?
Healthy community can't be manufactured. It grows through shared experiences, trust, and genuine connection.
That's why Group Connect comes first. Rather than assigning you to a group, we create space for you to meet people, build relationships, and discover who you naturally connect with before committing to an ongoing Community Group.

What if I am not a believer?
You're welcome here.
Community Groups are open to anyone, whether you've been following Jesus for years or you're simply exploring faith. We believe life is better in community, and that God often uses relationships to draw us closer to Him.
If you're just beginning your faith journey or have questions about Christianity, Alpha or Rooted may also be a great next step. Both provide a welcoming environment to explore faith, ask honest questions, and build meaningful relationships.

How often is Group Connect offered?

Is there a cost? Is KidCare available?
Group Connect is completely free to attend. We'll provide everything you need—just show up!
Limited KidCare is available during registration for a small fee. Be sure to reserve your spot early, as space is limited.

Do I have to attend all five sessions?
We encourage you to attend all five sessions whenever possible. Since Group Connect is designed to help you build relationships over time, each week is an important opportunity to connect with others.
That said, we know life happens. If you have to miss a week, don't let that keep you from joining us—we'd still love to have you.

What if I don't really connect with anyone?
We get it. Finding your people can take time, and we don't expect meaningful community to happen overnight.
If you finish Group Connect and don't feel like you've found the right fit, we'd love to help. Reach out to us at groups@prestontrail.org, and we'll come alongside you as you take your next step toward finding a Community Group where you can truly belong.
