HOW LONG DOES THE RESIDENCY LAST?
The residency is an 11-month program, running June 1, 2018 – April 30, 2019. Students must be available for the entire time period to be accepted.
WHAT ARE THE FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS?
Each resident will receive a $12,000 ministry stipend (pre-tax) paid out bi-monthly throughout the length of the program. All conference expenses and other resources will be provided. Additional part-time employment is acceptable if it does not conflict with the specific ministry requirements. We strongly advise you not to apply to this program if you have a considerable amount of consumer debt. Candidates are not permitted to work full-time because of the demands of the program.
As a part-time, temporary employee of Preston Trail medical benefits and holiday pay will not be provided.
WHAT IS THE WEEKLY SCHEDULE?
Schedules will differ depending on each resident’s ministry specialty and responsibilities. Residents should expect to work 25 hours per week within their ministry specialty (weekly class time and preparation does not count toward the 25 hours).
Resident team meeting and equipping courses (Tuesdays, 3-4 hours): This is where we’ll focus on the curriculum.
Preston Trail staff meeting (Tuesdays, once per month): This is a time when we gather to share stories of ministry, what we are learning from God’s Word, gather leadership insights and pray with one another.
Ministry team meeting (varies): You will meet weekly with the ministry coach and staff team within your ministry specialty.
Ministry events and responsibilities in your area of specialty (varies): You will be required to prepare for and help lead the weekly ministry events within your ministry specialty (e.g., Groups, re:generation, ReEngage, etc.).
